Ayrshire Junior Team Championship

The Ayrshire Junior Team Championship, which has been competed for since 1988, is a strokeplay competition for teams of players representing Ayrshire Golf Association member clubs, with trophies competed for on both a scratch and handicap basis, for team and individual scores.

Currently the team score is the best three scores from four, with the fourth score being considered in the event of a tie.

The trophies competed for are

THE MATT LYGATE TROPHY - Scratch Team Champions 

Presented in 1988 by former internationalist and Ayrshire Golf Association Past President Matt Lygate.

THE ANDREW D NIMMO TROPHY - Handicap Team Champions

Presented by Prestwick St Cuthbert Golf Club in 1991 in memory of club member and Ayrshire Junior Golf League founder Andrew D. Nimmo

THE PRESTWICK CIRCUITS TROPHY - Best individual scratch score

Presented in 1987 to The Ayrshire Junior Golf League by the Prestwick Circuits company. Originally assoociated with The AJGL Wallace Thornton Trophy competition, it has been awarded during the Ayrshire Junior Team Championship since 1988.

THE CARRICK TROPHY - Best individual nett score

Presented in 1991 by an anonimous associate of AJGL Honorary member Sam Coulter of Maybole Golf Club, and named to reflect its area of origin.
