The Ayrshire Junior Golf League Under 16 knockout Trophy competition was established in 1984 and is played on a handicap basis by teams of players under 16 years of age, representing competing clubs.
The original shield, donated in memory of AJGL Secretary John Cowan, was lost in a fire at Loudoun Gowf Club in 1985, and was replaced by the present trophy.
The competition is played on a home or away knockout basis with the final being played on a nominated course towards the end of the season.
For details of the competition rules, see the Ayrshire Junior Golf League Constitution & Rules of Competitions published elsewhere on this page.
